Recency requirement

Also called validity period · document expiry · issued within

Definition

A rule set by a receiving authority requiring that a submitted certificate have been issued within a stated period before the application.

Context

The FBI does not place an expiry date on an Identity History Summary. Any validity period comes from the receiving authority, which means the same document can be current for one application and stale for another.
